There is ample space and comfort for both front and back row passengers thanks to the heated and ventilated seats. As is typical for this market category, the third row is comfortable for children but may be too tiny for adults. However, the third row does seem a bit more spacious than that of the Acura MDX and other competing SUVs.
Additionally, because the infotainment touchscreen lacks a home button and practical shortcuts to frequently performed activities, using it while driving is more irritating. For instance, selecting a driving mode requires three touches on the touchscreen. It would make far more sense to use an analog dial or button. It doesn’t help that finding what you need may become quite challenging if you use the alternatives.
It’s annoying that you have to keep switching between displays to read Google Maps content because it’s not shown in the instrument cluster or head-up display. We need to simplify these sorts of encounters for safety concerns since they happen often throughout the day.
The sound quality of most in-car audio systems is about the same, although the RZ450e’s improved one is rather great. Even at low settings, my podcasts sound fantastic, and I discovered new layers and sounds in songs that I’ve heard a hundred times before.
Given the pricing, I would have expected that there would be a lot more options available, even though the RZ450e comes with a ton of amazing features by default. The vehicle’s stated combined number of 8.6 L/100 km is significantly higher than my as-tested average of 10.0 L/100 km during 325 km of mixed driving. This is surprising given the size of the vehicle. I largely used the RZ450e’s eco mode for this test because I wasn’t sure what to anticipate given the extreme ice where I was. The RZ450e could have done better, but I was being very careful and attempting to obtain the greatest gas economy possible.
